{"id":30,"date":"2021-12-03T21:46:10","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T21:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carolidilli.tattoo\/historia-del-tatuaje\/"},"modified":"2024-10-02T22:35:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T20:35:46","slug":"historia-tatuaje","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carolidilli.tattoo\/en\/historia-tatuaje\/","title":{"rendered":"History of tattooing"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\"You can't name a single great country, from the polar regions in the north to New Zealand in the south, in which Aborigines didn't get tattoos.\"<\/p><footer><cite>Charles Darwin (1809 - 1882)<\/cite><\/footer><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whenever I have wanted to research the origins and development of tattooing in the world, I have always come across records that dealt with small parts of this long history, that is, they focused on documenting the history of tattooing in a specific region, such as the Pacific, Japan, Europe or the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also came across many curious facts and interesting characters that do not have so much historical relevance, but deserve to be remembered. And how not to mention the countless illustrations and photos worth seeing and collecting, which often tell more than what has been written on the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps because of my limited historical knowledge, I was never able to mentally organize a timeline to understand the chronological order of all these stories from different corners of the planet for so many centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That's where my desire to organize this <em>timeline<\/em> with the most important and striking events in the history of tattooing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-esta-linea-temporal-esta-lejos-de-estar-completa-aun-asi-con-lo-que-tiene-ya-ayuda-a-entender-que-y-cuando-han-pasados-algunos-de-los-hechos-significativos-del-pasado-del-tatuaje-tambien-impulsa-a-percibir-que-es-el-acto-de-tatuarse-en-realidad-mas-alla-de-la-perspectiva-actual-as-veces-tan-superficial-y-llena-de-prejuicios\">This timeline is far from complete, yet with what it has already helps to understand what and when some of the significant events of the tattoo past have happened. It also helps to perceive what the act of tattooing really is, beyond the current perspective, sometimes so superficial and full of prejudices.&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have tried to be concise with each of the events added to the timeline, and on the other hand I wanted to leave bibliographical references and links for those who want to know more about each topic.
