On the road

I have two phrases tattooed on my chest by my friend Maik Romero, both have a similar meaning and complement each other.

¨São os passos que fazem os caminhos¨ is the phrase above, from one of my favorite writers, the gaucho. Mário Quintanavery much appreciated in Porto Alegre, my hometown.

¨They are the steps that make the roads¨ is said in Spanish. It is something I believe in very much. Each of us has the capacity to follow or create the paths we want, at our own pace and in the company of those we want.

The phrase at the bottom of my chest is in large print: ¨The road is the destination¨ of Eduardo Galeanothis writer who always inspires me so much. Destiny is not a distant and inevitable point of arrival, destiny is designed under each step we take.

And on these roads, which are almost never well signposted and well-lit highways, we will have to know how to take advantage of the opportunities that arise and choose wisely where to go.

It has been seven years tattooing in my beloved Porto Alegre, a city where I was born and raised.

After that, with some experience and the desire to know the world, I came to Europe and have been eleven years enjoying and tattooing a lot in Madrid, which has always treated me very well. Of course, I was also there traveling for business or pleasure, both together almost always that I like even more!

Many of those many trips have been to Galicia. I've been in love and very curious since the first time I came, about its people, its flavors and its magical landscapes. And here I am again in Galicia. This time to live and know it all better.

I'm not leaving Madrid completely, I'll be tattooing one week a month at F.M.N. Tattoo.
