The best way to cure a tattoo can vary according to a series of factors that will be described hereafter.
For this reason, NOT always the healing care for a newly made tattoo indicated by the tattoo artist will coincide with the care that you may already know.either through a tattoo that you have done before, or that someone has told you about or that you have read about.
If you think something is wrong with the healing of your tattoo, talk to your tattoo artist, he will usually be able to help you. And if this is not the case, you will know that it is time to seek medical help.
Listed below are some of those factors, those that I could remember:
There are parts of the body that need more care with cleaning than others. For example, those parts that are more exposed to cross contaminationsuch as hands or feet.
Some areas heal faster and others take longer. For example, flat skin surfaces tend to heal faster than joint surfaces. Parts of the body that are not constantly covered by clothing also heal better.
Larger extensions of skin cost more to heal than smaller extensions of skin.
Tattoos in style Black and Gray o Dotwork tend to heal faster than other styles. Lines and dots on tattoos, as well as surfaces covered with diluted inks, take less time to heal than large areas of colored or black tattooed skin.
In summer you will wear fewer plastic bandages. And if temperatures are too high, they can slow healing.
And in winter, you will usually wear plastic bandages longer and will have to find times in your days to air the tattooed surface.
There are factors that are more problematic in summer than in winter, such as avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun and swimming in the sea and pool. But in reality, these precautions must always be observed. Likewise, any type of immersion bath or sauna should be avoided.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not always better to tattoo in winter. It rather depends on the part of the body you will tattoo and the lifestyle you lead. When in doubt, consult your tattoo artist.
The healing of the tattoo will change depending on whether the site you are in has high or low temperatures, higher or lower humidity in the air.
If you are more exposed to water, heat or sun, dirt, chemicals or other harmful substances, you may be exposed to infectious diseases you will probably have to take extra care in cleaning your new tattoo. And preferably, choose a vacation period or days off to get tattooed.
If you have any relevant illness, are taking medication, have scarring problems or allergies, let your tattoo artist know. In some cases you will be able to get tattooed following a series of specific cares, in others you will need medical supervision or you will have to postpone the tattoo.
